Description

The Mold Perm Tester has a rubber-faced contact head connected by rubber tubing to an adapter bell that fits any permeability meter meeting AFS specifications.

It is used to measure the permeability of production molds and cores in AFS permeability units, and to check AFS 2 x 2-in. (50.8 x 50.8 mm) diameter specimens of known permeability, in the specimen tube. The mold permeability test correlates with casting quality, while the lab permeability test is a gauge for sand comparison and for determining any change in the venting power of the sand itself.
